Day 4: The excitement is churning!

Hope in our Lives: The youth couldn't wait to return to John's home this morning. We were able to arrive an hour earlier and get started right away. It was more sanding and mudding with the hopes that we can put up some texture and then finish with painting. Even though it does not seem like we are doing much, John says that each day he notices a huge difference. John really has brought hope to his neighbors and has brought hope to these youth that they are making a difference not only for him and his life but for the entire city and community of New Orleans. John was very sneaky and went out and bought some water balloons for a little fun. He had a blast throwing balloons at all the kids and of course the kids loved it. It was a nice refreshing break from the heat. In the evening the youth got to participate in a very special service. We spoke of brokenness and how that affects our lives each and everyday. We ended our time with Holy Communion. Wow, what a powerful moment to watch these youth come to the cross and put all there brokenness there and know that they were forgiven and receive Christ True Body and Blood. We love you Jesus!

Nate was invited over for some coffee across the street to meet Catalina. The entire St. Bernard Parish, 67,00 residents, all lost their homes.

Finishing up lunchtime and devotions!

Zach and Dana were dancing to ballet music.

Our roller coaster ride to St. Bernard Parish everyday. Also the Superdome, home of the New Orleans Saints!
